Today is Friday and I’m sitting on my couch listening to Episode 6 of the Random Shapes Podcast. I had nothing to do with the podcast, I barely know the people who made the podcast, but even so they said a lot of really nice things about the network.
Random Shapes is 15 months old. It has gone from 7 members to 70. I’m extremely happy with how it has turned out and where it is heading. But I hate letting it go.
I hate letting it go partly because I’m leaving it extremely unfinished. Random Shapes is all about bringing together awesome teens. In the next version of the site we will be really focusing on that. I’m glad I was able to give my input and help with parts of the site but I won’t be here to …
Yesterday was Random Shapes 1st birthday. It was awesome. Nothing special happened. I didn’t do much to celebrate. But it was awesome. I can’t believe it’s already been a year. Some big things have happened with the the network lately. Huge in my opinion and as always I’m really excited about how things are going.
Today I got my wisdom teeth taken out. I don’t remember most of what happened on the way home but my dad says that I kept telling him I was seeing double. It’s too bad I don’t remember it. That would’ve been cool! I haven’t swollen up too much and they have me taking vicodin so my teeth don’t hurt too much either. Overall it’s gone much better then I thought it would.
This coming Tuesday is Refresh Phoenix. The author of “Designing the …
I’ve been working on the next version of Random Shapes for a few weeks now. The main code-base that makes it all work will be completely different but it will allow for a lot more features and will make it tons easier to manage. Everything that’s getting added to the site I’ve been wanting since the site was launched. I can’t believe its taken almost a year to get to this point but I’m glad it’s finally happening.
I’ve been very focused lately since I’m trying to get this done ASAP. I keep wondering if I should just stop and launch the site with what I have or if it would be better to keep working on it and launch the site later with more features. I just don’t know.
Either way, I promise it will be cool. It’s gonna be …
It’s amazing what a deadline can do to your productivity. In a few short months it’s all over. Procrastinating is no longer an option and so lately… I’ve been busy.
Tomorrow Random Shapes is opening up its forum to everyone and you’re expected invited to join. Also this weekend I’m redesigning my other site and I’ll be working on the new design for this one. I have a good idea of how I want it to look I just hope I can do it. Later this month I’ll be launching another site I’m working on for a client and with any luck I’ll be releasing this design as a wordpress theme shortly after, just because. At my actual job I’m having a good time. We redesigned and launched the main Global Alerts site recently and I can’t wait …
How do you take it? What do you do about it?
I am not easily offended, especially when I know that what I’ve done is successful and appreciated by others. I take offense the same way I take suggestions from a stranger. I think about it and improve or realize they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about and move on.
Unfortunately some people don’t take offense that way. Instead of learning they run away and then try to fight back. But you can’t win that way and you never will. You need to think and grow otherwise you’re just pushing yourself further down.
I have no regrets and I look forward to where I’m headed, because each day things are getting just a little bit brighter.
