So It Begins

I’m writing this post from a computer in the college library. There are hundreds of computers in here and thankfully the internet works great.

Today is my first day of college and I just went to my first class. I must admit, the college experience has already been pretty interesting. There are so many different people here and all of them are here for a different purpose. The people are very interesting and I hope I can get to know some of them better.

There are a lot of differences between high school and college. The teachers are much more laid back, they have designated smoking areas, the library is enormous, they have a cyber cafe, and there’s a lot less gum on the ground.

You know I’m not too excited about college but since I’m here I’m trying to enjoy it. I …

Why am I going to college?

In Steve Pavlina’s 10 Tips For College Students his first tip is to answer the question, “Why am I going to college?” He says,

Many college students really don’t have a clear reason for being there other than the fact that they don’t know what else to do yet. They inherit goals from family and peers which aren’t truly their own. That was how I started college. Is this you as well?

This is not me, but I think it is how I was raised. I think this is how a lot of us are raised. We go to school, we get older, we get jobs, and we go to college because that’s what we’ve always been told to do. I’ve just assumed since I was in elementary school that when I graduated from high school I would …

Happy To Be Home

I spent the past week in North Carolina with my best friend and it made me realize how much I like Arizona. North Carolina was fun and everything but I’m so used to living in Arizona that anything else seems like a foreign country to me. The streets are different, the buildings are different, the weather is different, the water tastes funny, and the people talk with an accent.

I had a great time with my friend in North Carolina but I’m happy to be home and I’m happy that I live in Arizona. My life would be completely different if I lived anywhere else. Traveling lets me see things from a different perspective and I hope I have the opportunity to travel a lot while I’m still young.

Leaving On A Jetplane

All my bags are packed and I’m ready to go. My best friend since 4th grade is moving to North Carolina and I’m going with him. I’m leaving tomorrow morning but don’t worry, I’ll be back in a week. Sadly he won’t be coming back with me but no worries. He’ll be back soon enough. I just hope he has an internet connection at his new house. :)

That’s Mike on the left. He’s the shorter one. Too bad he doesn’t read this.

It has been well over a year since I went without using the internet for a whole week. That must be how you know you’re a geek.

I’d like to say that I’m thowing him a going away party (we’ve been partying since graduation!) but tonight is Refresh …

I’m Graduating Tomorrow

Heh. That’s weird.
