One year ago today I bought the domain mattbobjones.com and got my site up and running just before trick-or-treaters started ringing my doorbell non-stop. My friend Jay set me up with free hosting and helped me with some CSS problems I was having and the site was online around 6pm. Since then my life has completely changed and I’m lovin it. Since October 31st, 2005 I’ve…

So I was talking with David Krug on AIM today about Blingo, the search engine that gives out prizes at random to users. Then only an hour or 2 after we had been talking about Blingo I won another $10 iTunes Gift Certificate.
Last time I won it was because someone who had signed up through my referal link won a prize so I won too. This time I won the prize so the person I signed up through should be pretty happy. I’ve been really busy lately but that made my day a lot better.
Blingo has recently partnered up with Publishers Clearing House and the prizes are much bigger and better. Instead of an Ipod Nano being the best prize you can win, now you could win a Ford Mustang, $5000 in cash, …
Something crazy happened today.
I know that most people in general don’t read blogs. Walk into any store (or classroom) and look around. Chances are none of those people know what an RSS feed is or have ever heard of Web 2.0? I understand that, but today in my English class we were discussing an article in the newspaper about the CEO of Sun Microsystems Inc. wanting to “disclose significant financial information through blogs” (similar article in the Boston Globe here).
I was blown away. The teacher asked if anyone could explain what a blog was and no one could do it. A few students tried and all they could come up with was that a blog is one of those things you can do on Myspace. I raised my hand but the teacher must have been satisfied with the answer …
Yesterday I won a $10 iTunes Gift Certificate on Blingo and the best part is, I didn’t have to do a thing.
Blingo is a search engine powered by Google that randomly gives out prizes whenever you make a search.
From the Blingo about page:
1. Every day we pick a bunch of random winning times.
2. The first person to search after a winning time wins instantly.
3. Then the winner tells us where to send the prize.
But remember, I said I didn’t have to do a thing. That’s because Blingo allows you to refer your friends through a referal link (like this one). Back in January, JasonKarns started using Blingo through my referal link and yesterday he won a $10 iTunes Gift Certificate. And since he signed up through my referal link. I won …
Hello everyone. It’s been a while.
College is going well. I don’t have very much homework and my teachers are pretty cool. I go to school from 7 – 12 Monday and Wednesday and 7 – 8 on Fridays so my schedule is great.
Refresh Phoenix is planning an Unconference and it looks like it’s going to really cool. I just hope I can help out.
You may have noticed that this site was down for a few days this past week. The server that all of my sites were on had some problems and I’ve decided to switch hosts for now. This site is now running on Zanzaban’s servers. If you’re looking for hosting Zanzaban has a great service and really good prices. Just fill out the contact form on the site and let him know how you found …
