August Web Design Links of Awesomeness

    Last night was Demo Night at Refresh Phoenix. Anyone could sign up to show off there new site, web app, whatever and tell everybody about it. The demo’s were very cool and unique. It was really interesting to hear about how they were built, why they were built the way they were, and how they came up with the idea. I don’t think I will use the web apps that were shown but they were cool enough that I want to find a reason to use them. When the demo’s were over I wanted to come home and build something cool but I don’t know how so I stuck around to talk with people instead.

    I Play on the Computer All Day

    Or atleast that’s what other people think.

    When people come over and see me at the computer they assume I’m either playing a game or checking my Myspace. But the fact is, I haven’t played a computer game in over a year and I don’t have a Myspace. When I tell them that I’m working they never believe me.

    Sometimes I’ll explain to them what I’m doing, show them my progress and maybe even show them the code I’m working on. But they still don’t believe me.

    My friends tell me I should get a real job and then I ask them what a real job is. But they don’t know. In my opinion, I have a real job because I’m doing something that I enjoy and care about. And because I have a fun job, in a way, I do play on …
