The Online Generation Gap

It lives in your homes. It follows you to work. It’s with you when you sleep…

Their is a clear and distinct generation gap among frequent users of the web. On one side of the gap are the people that have been working with computers since before the internet. They were among the first and second generation of web designers and have laid the foundation for the internet as we know it. These people have been doing some type of programming for more years then I’ve been alive. I don’t know the exact age but I think that the youngest members of this side of the gap are around 30.

Phoenix Rules!

Tonight is the Phoenix Ruby Users Group meeting and tomorrow night is the Refresh Phoenix meeting. I can’t wait and I should probably be leaving soon. I’ve been wanting to learn Ruby for a while now so I’m glad James Britt is putting this together. If you want to learn Ruby and you live near Phoenix, this is the place to be. Refresh Phoenix has been an enormous help to me lately and it is only getting better. I think I’m getting more out of each meeting than anybody else. I just hope their is something I can help with or present to the group.

I need …

I want to go just so I can get it over with but then again I’d rather not go at all. It wouldn’t be that bad if their were no homework, but that only happens in my dreams. If it weren’t for sports I’d get so bored.

On a brighter note mattbobjones.com was accepted into another CSS gallery today. The site is called CSS nightingale and you can seee my site here. I think I’ve submitted my site to all of the CSS galleries I’ve come across and unfortunately only a few of them have accepted it. To tell you the truth I’m suprised I got accepted into as many …

The Rudder of the Year

The first hour is the rudder of the day. It steers the rest of your day in the direction you want it to go. If the first hour of your day is lazy, the rest of the day will be lazy. On the other hand, if the first hour of your day is productive, the rest of your day will be productive. Steve Pavlina said, “if I strive to make that first hour optimally productive, the rest of the day tends to follow suit.” Starting your day focused and motivated will undoubtedly lead to a more beneficial and more enjoyable day.

I’ve set a few goals for myself this year that I want to accomplish. Some will be harder than others and all of them will take some degree of motivation to finish. In order to complete all of …
