My Goals for 2006

As promised here’s my list of goals that I want to accomplish during the upcoming year. 2005 has probably been the best year of my life so far and 2006 looks to be even better!
Review of 2005
When this year started I was extremely busy with soccer, running, school, and work. Now that the year is over I am even more busy and consider that to be an accomplishment. Academically I was getting good grades and generally doing ok but I’ve stepped it up a bit this year. I’ll be graduating in May and going to college the following semester. Athletically I was doing a little bit better than my grades, mainly because sports are 100 times funner than school. I have been blessed this year with a great soccer coach (my dad) and lots of time to play the …

Task Management Tracker, Day 14

Today marks two weeks of using the Task Progress Tracker. I’m still using it and I still love it. Dave commented that “It’ll be interesting to see if you even need the form after two weeks.” I’m proud to say that I don’t need to use the form anymore but I still use it because I like it so much. It’s such a useful tool not only for tracking tasks and motivating you to get started but it also helps track time and let me see my progress on paper. Even though I still use the form I don’t use it as often as I used to. I don’t need to. If I use it as much as I did when I first started I’d probably feel like I was wasting time. Now I mostly use it as a …

Merry Christmas

I would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy holiday season. Just in case you haven’t gotten me a gift yet, just send me one of these and you’ll be forgiven. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get where I am today! I’m sorry, I won’t name names because I’ll probably leave someone out and I’m way too tired to think right now. The site has only been up for 7 weeks, but they have been very exciting and I look forward to what the new year will bring.

How to Deal with Comment Spam

Just a few days ago I got a question from a visitor wondering how much spam this site received. Although I haven’t had any email spam, yesterday the first comment spam appeared on the blog. Hopefully nobody noticed it but I was both mad and confused that someone would do that especially on a site with as few visitors and even fewer comments as I have. WordPress has a few tools to keep spammers from attacking a site but of course nothing is perfect. To battle spammers I’ve come up with a few solutions but I don’t like any of them. I can either stop comments completely or take the time to moderate all of them. I want to take care of this problem while my blog is still small so I don’t have to worry about it as …

Finishing a Project

Today I released my current project, AvidLaw. The site was completed much quicker than I had expected because of the Task Progress Tracker that I’ve been using and I’m very pleased on how it turned out. Today was another great day, AvidLaw has already been accepted by Screenspire and I’m waiting to see if any other sites will accept it aswell.

I love the feeling of completing a project but I can’t wait to get started on the next one. I’ve found that by using the Task Progress Tracker I get a lot more done but once I complete a project, putting a check in the done box just isn’t satisfying enough. Dave Seah agrees and has created another version the Task Progress Tracker called the Task Progress Destruct-o-Matic Edition. In this …
